Arizona Ghostbusters Attend "Ghostbusters Screening" At The Loft Cinema 8/27/2007

Saturday October 27th was the screening of Ghostbusters at the Loft Cinema in Tucson, AZ. We've been working with the theater on the screening planning since the first week of February.

We were quite surprised to pull up to the theater and see that instead of the marquee simply saying "Ghostbusters", it read "AZ GHOSTBUSTERS LIVE."

We started the evening by doing a scan of the lobby so people entering the theater to take pictures with us. We used some simple stuff for our scanning equipment since we don't have a pke yet. The theater director went on stage and started telling the story on how the theater is supposed to be really haunted. The theater had a guy dressed as a ghost messing around with people in the audience while he was telling this story. The ghost hid and they stated the music video for the theme song, we came out two on each side and started handing out our marshmallows and twinkies. At the end of the song we got up and did the cartoon dance across the stage. The host asked us if we had found anything yet and then the ghost popped up in the audience and ran out. We pulled wands and gave chase. Then they had a trivia contest when they gave out a poster and dvds and some of or AZ GB logo t-shirts we donated. After that we came back to the stage with a trap and announced the theater is clean.

It was the first time all of us had seen the movie in a theater. We were pleased to see alot of kids in the audience and alot of their parents told us it was their kids 1st time seeing the movie. We were glad we could be a part of that. We can't wait for next year's show.

We'd like to thank The Loft Cinema and program director Jeff Yanc.

The Arizona Ghostbusters headed out to the International Horror and Sci-fi Film Festival Saturday October 20th. We mingled with the crowd while waiting to meet Linda Blair, star of "The Exorcist" who was a guest at the festival. After meeting Linda we headed over to judge the costume contest at the after party. Matt, Jeff, and Esther judged the contest with Brian Pulido, creator of the Lady Death comics. We had a great time and would like to thank festival directors Jason Carney and Brian Pulido.

Arizona Ghostbusters At Phoenix Comic Con Zombie Walk 10/5/2007

The Arizona Ghostbusters lent a hand at the Phoenix Comic Con/International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival hosted Zombie Walk. The walk was held in downtown Phoenix at the First Friday Art Walk. There was the four of us and around 200 zombies. We led the zombies by a couple of blocks warning people of the oncoming zombies and passing out zombie survival guide pamphlets.
At the conclusion of the walk was a zombie wedding. The walk was a great success and we'd like to thank everyone who participated.

Puma Press Inteview With Team Member Matt Haynes 10/3/2007
Here's some scans from the Puma Press Newspaper for the Paradise Valley Community College that was on stands today. The inteview was with Matt Haynes about how he started out busting and continues to this day. The 1st part of the inteview was on the front page and continued on the 3rd. The article does a great job of summing up what we're all about. Unfortunately our website wasn't up when the article was written but it does have our events for the month listed at the end. The article was written by Amanda Jaskulski.
