Relay For Life 10/24/2009
On Saturday October 24h, 2009, the Arizona Ghostbusters attended the Southwest Valley
Relay For Life. The money raised at the Relay For Life benefits the American Cancer Society. This was our second time at a
Relay For Life. We set our booth up along with the other relay teams on the local high school football field. The track field
was used for the relay walk course. At our booth we sold marshmallow bags, Crunch Bars, Twinkies, and pictures with the team
for donations. We also had coloring pages set up and a TV playing "Ghostbusters" 1 and 2 and "Real
Ghostbusters" cartoon episodes. We hopefully created a few new Ghostbuster fans as many kids would walk by and get
hooked on watching whatever were were showing on the TV at the moment. Quite a few watched several episodes of the cartoon
and the parents reminisced about watching it when they were kids. There were emotional moments during the memorial luminarie
walk and throughout the evening. It was a great event to both remember and hope. We've all had family members effected by
cancer. It was a great and fun night. We'd like to thank everyone who came out to support this great cause.

Phoenix Zombie Walk 10/2/2009
On Friday October 2nd, 2009, the Arizona Ghostbusters helped organize and host
the Phoenix Zombie Walk held at the First Friday Art Walk. The zombie walk was a promotional event for the upcoming International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival being held at MadCap Theaters. The Film Festival was already hosting a Zombie Scavenger Hunt for prizes at
First Friday so we decided it would be an excellent time to have a zombie walk as well. Around the walk route we made and
posted various zombie warning signs. For the zombies themselves we made various signs to carry to promote the film festival
and a few just for fun. On those we distressed the signs as much as possible with blood, bullet holes and burn marks. For
our booth location we set up police tape and chalk outline of a victim who apparently lost their head. To help gain more walkers
and to also collect donations for the MS Walk, we offered zombie make-up on the spot. This proved to be a very popular and
many passers-by continued to get makeup even after the walk was over. Luckily our weather cooled down and we even had some
rain during the walk.
As the sun fell down we had over 100 zombies of all ages stalking the streets of Phoenix.
Many zombies came in great makeup and many participated in the first Zombie Walk. Just ahead of the zombies several of our
team members led the way handing out zombie info pamphlets. The other half of the team helped keep the zombies together on
the sidewalks and while crossing streets. The zombies had a great time as well as the unwitting participants along the walk
route. After the walk we continued with our booth to collection MS Walk donations for pictures with the team and the occasional
zombie completing their scavenger hunt requirements. It was an awesome night and we are proud to have helped bring the Zombie
Walk back to Phoenix. We are especially proud of our newest member Chuck Goodman. He proved himself well against the hoards
of the undead. By the end of the evening we collected over $350 in donations for the MS Walk. We'd like to thank everyone
who participated and especially Andrea Beesley-Brown with the Horror Film Festival for allowing us to have the walk in their
honor and for helping to promote the event.

Step Out To Fight Diabetes Walk 9/26/2009
On Saturday September 26th, 2009 the Arizona Ghostbusters participated
in the Glendale Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk. Over the last couple of months our team did a great job collecting $500 in
donations for the American Diabetes Association. We had a big showing at the walk with 7 of our suited up busters with family
and friends in various Ghostbusters shirts. The walk was held at 6 pm at the Midwestern University Campus and covered 3 miles
around the area. During the walk we handed out “Diabetesbuster” stickers and sugar free candy ghosts. It was a
great event with a huge turnout.
