Phoenix Heart Walk 2/27/2010
On Saturday, February 27, 2010, the Arizona Ghostbusters participated in their 3rd Phoenix Heart Walk for the American
Heart Association. The Heart Walk is one of the biggest charity walks in the Phoenix in terms of attendance. The walk is 4
miles around Tempe Town Lake near the ASU campus. We had 6 busters and 4 walkers on our team. There was rain in the forecast
for a change but luckily it passed and the weather turned out perfect for a walk. We had a great response from our fellow
walkers and encountered a record number of children recognizing Ghostbusters which is always a good sign. As always we can't
wait till next years walk.
At the end of the walk we were paid a special visit by Amanda and her daughter Haley.
It was an honor to meet Haley and her mom. Haley is one of the biggest little fans out there and really knows her stuff. They
are in town visiting family and got in touch to stop by the walk to meet us. As a surprise for Haley, we gave her the first
of our new raffle items we plan to use, which is a Tootsie-Roll style "Portable Containment Unit" bank made by a
friend of ours. The future of Ghostbusters is in safe hands for sure. |
